Three questions, one answer

Rekey

Same lock, new key. From $70 per lock.

Replace

New hardware on the door. The price is confirmed on the call.

Were keys lost, or not handed back?

Yes: a rekey is usually enough if the lock still works well. Every old key stops working.

Is the lock damaged or hard to turn?

Yes: replace it. A damaged lock is not worth rekeying.

Do you want a different look or a stronger lock?

Yes: replace it. If all three answers are no, a rekey is usually enough.

The service

A clear answer

Rekeying swaps the pins so new keys work and old keys stop. Replacing puts in new hardware you choose.

The decision

When to rekey, when to replace

The technician looks at the locks and tells you honestly. If a rekey is enough, we say so.

Questions

Should I rekey or replace my locks?

If they work well, rekey. If they stick, are damaged or are basic locks on the front door, replace.

Does rekeying make a lock less secure?

No. The lock is as strong as before. Only the key changes.

Can every lock be rekeyed?

Most can. Some cheap or very old locks cannot, and then replacement is the only option.

Can all my doors use one key?

Yes, if the locks allow it. Ask on the call.

Not sure? We tell you on the call.
